When playing Dordle, you are required to identify two words using a single set of guesses. This means that it is even more crucial to make use of the first few guesses in order to make headway in finding the majority of the letters in both words than it is when playing Wordle. Once I learned that beginning with predictions of “Siren, Octal, Dumpy” was a good strategy, I decided to give it a go, and I found that it significantly improved my Dordle victory rate. However, that tactic was based on the frequency of the letters in English as a whole, and that prompted me to think: wouldn’t it be much more useful to examine how often the letters were on the list of responses that were permitted? There is a difference between that list and the list of words with five letters that are permitted to be guessed, which means that it is not the same thing as restricting the dictionary to terms with five letters. This is due to the fact that it would be very irritating for them to play if the solution was often terms that they had never heard of before.
